The Execution of LaVoy Finicum

An FBI agent is suspected of lying about firing twice at Robert "LaVoy" Finicum and may have gotten help from four other FBI agents in covering up afterward... [More]
Government not only failed in its duty to resolve matters without bloodshed, it contributed to the conditions making it all but inevitable when their demand for obedience was forced upon a man who would not kneel. They knew this man of unbending principle had never initiated violence and would only react if forced. They set things up so that would be the outcome.

He told them at the first roadblock he was going to go to turn himself in to Sheriff Palmer. Given the circumstances, he could have been escorted securely to do just that, to resolve things peaceably. The enforcers had waited all that time -- they could have called Palmer, assured Finicum he was on his way and no action would be taken, and waited another couple hours.

Lying FBI agents shooting into the truck with no identified threat target as Finicum was trying to exit with his hands up not only violates rules of engagement, it criminally endangered the occupants. As an aside, considering all the years its been in existence and all the money that's been poured into it, how many hostages has the Hostage Rescue Team actually rescued?

Finicum was shot in the back. As for the "justification" that he was going for his gun, not only would self-defense have been warranted, all we really have to go on to accept that, without better video and sound from on-scene recorders, is the word of people who were part of a kill team that is now being investigated for withholding critical information.

This whole thing did not have to happen. Finicum DID initially emerge with his hands up. Government actions prevented that scenario from unfolding. And now they're making noises about how justified they all were.

Another thing that's instructive about all this is in comments under another article about not releasing the names of the police shooters just yet. The hatred, the reveling and joy in the death of a man they revile, and the outright bigotry against Finicum's religion are all evident in those who think agents of the monopoly of violence ought to be able to kill with anonymity. If someone made similar slurs against Islam, these same Prozis would be screaming "Bigot!" and worse. And funny, how they'd take a polar opposite position had a person of a different set of circumstances been killed in a different place, like, say, Ferguson.

I said "Prozis," a term I use to combine "progressive" with Nazi, which is what they really are, as much as they try to project and pin that label onto advocates of Constitutionally-limited government. It's not just an example of Godwin's Law when they really do hate, and really do want the state to crush anyone who's not part of their cult.

As for what happens next, I won't be surprised to see push-back as more and more people have personal lines in the sand forcibly crossed. I don't see that as having a calming effect -- quite the opposite. I won't be surprised if some totally unforeseen wild card decides "it's time."

Whether the Rubicon has been finally crossed or not, and whether more are going to be dragged into this, is yet unknown. I guess we'll all find out.

‘Ballad of LaVoy Finicum’ Offers Tribute and Support for Slain Advocate’s Family

The song “was written the night Finicum was murdered by federal agents in January 2016,” Page’s email reveals. “It stands as a testament to LaVoy's life, and will be featured in ‘Dead Man Talking,’ an upcoming documentary series about him produced by the Center for Self Governance. Jordan has committed 50% of the proceeds from the sales of this song to the Finicum family to support them and their legal battles toward justice for LaVoy.” [More]
Jordan Page is back with another great song, premiering today.

LaVoy Finicum Assassination Analysis – All Videos

These are deep analysis videos of various factors in the wrongful death of LaVoy Finicum, who was murdered by the Oregon State Police with assistance by the FBI in Oregon in January 2016. [More]
As a caveat, I have not had time to review these. As my justification for linking to them anyway, I was clued into this by a former federal agent who has been consistently supportive of work exposing wrongdoing.

Investigation into Alleged FBI Finicum Shooting Evidence Tampering Faces Credibility Hurdles

If confirmed, such evidence tampering at a crime scene would not just be a career-ender for those involved, it would be a crime that merits prison time. And while “Former FBI agents and criminal justice experts have said they’re baffled why elite FBI agents might hide the shots,” the incentive to engage in cover-up does not appear all that puzzling of a riddle. [More]
What possible reasons could there be for the FBI to remove casings from the scene of LaVoy Finicum’s shooting? Will we ever find out?

Finicum Shooter Protection Bill Points to Wider Issue of Government Distrust

We know that the powers that be are desperately trying to bolster a false, government-started narrative that “rightwing extremists are a greater threat than ISIS.” And if you want to see violent death wishes leveled with promiscuous abandon, just look at comments on ”progressive” websites ginning up the mob against the Malheur Wildlife Refuge occupiers. Plus, let’s not forget the only killing so far was committed by an agent of the state. [More]
Protecting the identity of the officer who shot LaVoy Finicum is evidently more of a priority to Oregon State Police and politicians than ensuring unfettered public scrutiny.

Responses to Malheur Crisis Show Deep Divisions within Patriot Community

In some ways, the release of the video showing the shooting death of LaVoy Finicum has made things worse.  Different viewers are reacting in different ways, with some calling it a cold-blooded execution, and others concluding he looked like he was reaching for a weapon he reportedly carried. For those certain of the former assessment, it’s fair to ask, were the video to be shown to a jury, would it be able to return a unanimous “guilty” verdict that is beyond a reasonable doubt? [More]
Strong divisions exist even within the family, and then within the small band involved in the takeover.

We're the Only Ones Not Evident Enough

Two bullet casings that might have proven an FBI agent shot at Robert "LaVoy" Finicum apparently disappeared from the scene shortly after the Jan. 26 highway confrontation turned deadly, according to law enforcement sources and newly released police reports. [More]
No, really, we were just bending over to tie my shoe. Yes, of course I needed help.

SWATting ‘Prank’ Illustrates Lethal Consequences of Automatically Believing Accusations

Ostensibly people sign up to be peace officers to serve and protect, and swear an oath to the Constitution obliging them to protect the Bill of Rights as much as anything else. The rest of us want to make it home at the end of their shift, too. [More]
Have we seen instances where bodycam recordings leave reasonable people room to dispute the report of hands going to waistbands? Does the name LaVoy Finicum ring a bell?

We're the Only Ones Predisposed Enough

The trooper, a member of the state police SWAT team identified in court papers only as "Officer 1,'' was involved in at least two unrelated fatal shootings of civilians before the Finicum encounter... [More]
So naturally his past killings are state secrets.

Some Random Thoughts on the Malheur Verdicts

I know there was a juror rights education effort going on .

Alternatively, with revelations of the group being riddled with CIs, and with folks like Mike Vanderboegh smelling provocateurs from the outset, I can't shake a nagging feeling that the government had a vested interest in making sure embedded assets weren't convicted along with the rest of the group. There's no way they could obtain selective verdicts without raising and confirming suspicions.

In either case, the verdicts are of little comfort to the family of LaVoy Finicum.

We're the Only Ones Reforming Enough

We support responsible policing. We also recognize that any authority can be abused. We certainly learned that when Michael Strickland was railroaded and Lavoy Finicum was killed. [More]
There's plenty more where that came from, and Oregon Democrats are just the ones to give it to you.

It's Not as Immediately Gratifying as Torches and Pitchforks, BUT...

Before we all saddle up and move out on this:

...it might help to ask some questions.

For starters, if they're the source, why is there no related post on the Pacific Patriot Networks website?

Why just a screenshot, instead of a link to the post, so Barbara Davis can be asked for more details?

If she is a PPN insider, privy to exclusive revelations, there's not much of a relationship trail.

With all the legal defenses the feds have, and with the release of all information vetted to make sure no liabilities are presented, where did PPN get hold of such dynamite?  Assuming they did. I've asked and will update this post if they answer:

Here's one thing we can verify -- the FBI does claim LaVoy Finicum "did have a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in that pocket."

So now we ask ourselves:

Was it a plant?  They might not be that stupid, but what about OSP? There will be reports. There will be other recordings.

What if the recovered gun was stolen? Have we ruled out the possibility it was bought through a private sale, and LaVoy did not know? (And that alone would arouse other suspicions that would be pretty convenient at a time the feds are trying to suppress those.)

Who "on the inside" would have violated all protocol to release the serial number? The chain of custody for getting close enough to read them would be pretty limited, and at that point, with all the legal scrutiny, reports would be circulated on a "need to know" basis. That would mean there'd be a short list of leak suspects. The "whistleblower's" motivations for risking not only a career but also possible prosecution in order to make sure unverifiable information gets released on the Internet in conspiracy circles hardly seems like an act of enlightened self-interest.

Sure, there's a possibility this is planned disinformation by the government to further muddy waters and maybe get someone to overreact and take the focus off of them. There's also the possibility that it's all a hoax initiated by persons unknown for reasons that have not been stated.

The point being we do not know. We'll see if I get an answer.

This is a powder keg situation. The last thing needed is an unknown person with unknown motives lighting a match, and just buying into things and reacting in anger without knowing what's going on is, to say the least, destructive and irresponsible.

There are plenty of justice goals everyone wants to see come out of this situation. Some have a more immediate goal: Help save lives.

If you share that goal, please do what you can to make sure you're not a conduit for suspect information.

UPDATE:
I guess I'll try a different avenue of approach.

UPDATE:
I am going to call this fake...I just talked with my contact in touch with the family and I can confirm that LaVoy was not shot in the head (there will be an open casket funeral) and so far my LEO contact has stated that they have never run a serial number without letters. I will update when the number check gets back.
