Northam has called for the General Assembly to consider bills restricting access to guns, many of which have failed in previous legislative sessions. In direct opposition to Chase, one of his proposals includes expanding the authority of localities to prohibit firearms in government buildings. In anticipation of the possible restriction ... Northam has also called for universal background checks to close the loophole on private gun sales ...The governor has also called for the reinstatement of the one-gun-a-month law repealed in 2012, a ban on silencers and bump stocks and other legislation. Virginia Values

The so-called Virginia Values Act (S.B. 868), which Gov. Ralph Northam (D-Va.) signed on Holy Saturday (the day before Easter Sunday) in the middle of a pandemic, compels churches, religious schools, and Christian ministries to hire employees who do not share their stated beliefs on marriage, sexuality, and gender identity. A companion law (H.B. 1429) requires ministries and others like them to pay for transgender surgery in employee health care plans, a procedure that violates these ministries’ convictions. [More]

So if being defenseless makes us all safer, we can expect the police to disarm?

No?
