When 'Progressives' Collide

AMY SCHUMER Claims War On Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show ... IS WORKING! [More]
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch!

Besides, they've served their use to her.

Figures she's also a racist:
"I will continue to do everything I can. Even with all the snide little white sports writer making cutting remarks."
It's part of the narrative.

Just a Question of 'Where?'

Super Bowl argument at family barbecue leads to man's shooting death - "Preliminary info is that they were rooting for different teams," said police. [More]
Let's hear it for "Giffords Courage":

We're the Only Ones Out of 'Formation' Enough

Arnold said when he first heard the shots, he wondered if they were inspired by the Super Bowl halftime show. When asked to clarify that comment, he added, “You know, Beyonce’s video.” [More]

Now You See It, Now You Don't

Gavin Newsom updated his Super Bowl contest entry page:

He entered the "no purchase necessary" information  after I sent him the link to my AmmoLand piece noting its absence. Unsurprisingly, I soon noticed he deleted the link from his Facebook page...

So I added it back this morning:

And lo and behold, it was quickly removed again:

His page, his rules?

When used for political purposes, other rules must also be considered.  And even Google recognizes the editorial as qualifying for its news feed.

I may have more to say on this...

Let's Hear It for Our 'Sports Heroes'!

NFL’s first male cheerleaders to make Super Bowl debut in Atlanta [More]
The big question: Will they kneel?

No, I mean during the anthem.

I so don't care about anything NFL except to express contempt.

Snoop Dogg Calls Super Bowl Halftime Show ‘Dream Come True’ [More]

I guess expecting anyone of influence to turn it into a deserved nightmare was dreaming.

Goodbye, Mr. Chips

'Never eating your chips again': Viewers slam 'disturbing' Doritos Super Bowl ad featuring a woman giving birth prematurely [More]
That's not why "progressives" are furious.

This is.

And note the video is unavailable at that last link.

Mustn't distract from the narrative. It's called "damage control."

Jeez, one "Aw sh**" wipes out all those "Attaboys!"

Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen Super Bowl Ad Inconsistent with Gun Stance

That Rogen and Schumer (and anti-gun sports leagues and networks) rake in tons of money by encouraging people to drink alcoholic beverages seems more than a bit hypocritical. After all, per the National Institute of Health, “Nearly 88,0009 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making it the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States.” [More]
I suspect no one would have anything to do with either unless they were drunk or paid...

Newsom Super Bowl Contest a Reminder of Selective Regard for Rules

Curious isn’t it, that a man who has demonstrated time and again how he can’t – or won’t – control himself is so obsessed with controlling others? Telling, isn’t it, that someone who has proven so untrustworthy to those who have known him best is so distrustful of others? [More]
A career scumbag is offering a chance at game tickets for rights. No doubt there'll be plenty of takers demanding to give up yours along with their own.

That'll Show 'em

Proud, flag-loving patriots who hate seeing the American flag be disrespected may have no other option but to tune out of the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. [More]
That's the only other option these people can think of?

The Big Game

When I did my radio show announcement (see post below), I checked if today's Super Bowl was going to be running at the same time.  It starts at 6 p.m. Eastern.

I honestly am so detached from that I didn't even know who was playing until I went to the CBS website.  I guess I've heard there's a football team called the Ravens before, but the whole thing is generally so not part of my universe, except when they make it so.

Like the Bloomberg-Menino commercial last year.

Or that moron Scott Whitlock.

Or that meathead Mike Ditka.

And while tonight's big game will be on a different network, don't be surprised to see a Bob Costas moment or two, what with the Newtown students pre-game song and the comment opportunities that will lend, as well as the latest Leni Riefenstahl short from Bürgermeister gegen Guns, thankfully confined to the cheer-leading section.

A Knee/Jerk Reaction

Eminem Takes a Knee During the Super Bowl Halftime Show - The rap icon’s gesture, during a star-studded hip-hop show echoed Colin Kaepernick protests and came after two Los Angeles Rams players could be seen kneeling during the national anthem [More]

That the majority of "fans" didn't loudly "boo" tells the cultural Marxists they picked the "right" lineup.

I understand from after-reports that mask violations abounded.

And it's no surprise no "feminists" responded to my challenge.

There's Really Only One Appropriate Response

The hell with the NFL. [More]

They'd all starve if they depended on my money.

I wonder how many gun owners will be participating in Super Bowl parties?

Super Bowl LVI to Showcase ‘Fundamental Transformation’ with Celebrity Gun-Grabbers

What’s happening at halftime is actually a continuation of what Barack Obama called the “fundamental transformation” of the United States, something abetted by the NFL when it showed its trademark gutlessness over the national anthem. We’ll see that again when they include the so-called “Black National Anthem” at the start of Superbowl LVI. [More]

What self-respecting gun owner would subject himself to Mary J's bilge and Snoop's doggy-doo...?

Why Don't We Pick on Someone Our Own Size?

It seems like we're doing this backwards. [More]

For some reason I'm reminded of a routine that took place in the cafeteria of my freshman dorm. There was a football player, a guy who went on to play pro and even earned several Super Bowl rings.

One of the guys from my floor I regularly ate with was the same height as me and even skinnier (I was 6/2" and 155 lbs. at the time, so you can imagine), and every time the player passed our table, my buddy, under his breath just loud enough for us to hear, would mutter things like "Come on. I'll fight you right now, motherf*****."

I guess you had to be there, but Jeez that was funny.

Another Motown Anomaly

"One is accused of pointing a gun at a man who had poured pop on his car. Another was allegedly smoking crack cocaine. A third tested positive for marijuana use -- for the third time, police said.

"All three are Detroit cops...

"’We set our goals and principles very high in this department,’ said police spokesman James Tate. ‘If someone within our personnel violates the policies of the Detroit Police Department or commits behavior that could be interpreted as illegal, then appropriate action must be taken.

"’We have hundreds of dedicated men and women who go out every day and provide first-rate service. These are definitely anomalies.’"

Really?

Then I guess “appropriate action” has been taken on those 500 backlogged disciplinary cases? You know, the ones that were anomalies?

Maybe the cops should hold another gun “buyback,” if for no other reason than to get the media fawning all over them.

Plus it might help them raise funds to help stave off the effects of "a $300 million budget deficit, and the threat of laying off 612 police officers." It would also get people's minds off Detroit's leader in gun control, Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who responded to Motor City's fiscal woes by charging "more than $210,000 on the city's MasterCard in his first 33 months in office. Some of the charges include an $850 steakhouse dinner; $3,837 on chauffeured sedans; and $11,644 on Super Bowl hotel rooms."

At least we can take comfort that "Kilpatrick again disputes persistent rumors of a party with strippers at the mayoral residence."

I bring this up because I don't want anybody thinking official criminality is endemic, or that the 3 cops were simply emulating their masters. As should be evident to all who can see, corruption in Detroit is an anomaly, and on those rare occasions when it surfaces, appropriate action is taken.

Thoughts on Super Bowl LV

I was really PO'd and did something I rarely do. I yelled at the wife and younger feral son Qusay. Not really at them, but I did do the Charlie Brown "Aughhh!"

They told me who was playing the day before the game. Kansas City and somebody else, right?

The most entertaining thing for me was this.

So much for maintaining a tradition.

I'm truly not exaggerating when I say how little televised sports mean to me.
