If that hotline were used for the stated reasons, it would be effectively shut down. Curious that there's no warning about hoax hate crime reports being punishable, so I guess they're saying anything goes.

Don't think of it as a hate crime hoax.  Think of it as bold performance art necessary to focus public attention on the urgent crisis of hateful, racist and homophobic "conservative" white men.

I'd say "Bravo, Mr. Smollett," except I don't want the honorific to be misinterpreted as a microaggression.
