This is All it Takes

[Use BugMeNot to bypass site registration]

It was Fabian Sheats' third felony drug arrest in four months. But on the afternoon of Nov. 21, according to a police report, he was looking to curry favor, so he told officers they could find a kilogram of cocaine in a house at 933 Neal Street N.W.

That encounter led police to the home of Kathryn Johnston, an elderly woman who lived alone behind burglar bars and kept a rusty revolver. When officers burst into the house just three hours after talking to Sheats, a shootout ensued that left the woman dead and three officers wounded. No cocaine was found.
Rely on the neighborhood Gollum and use that as justification to raid an innocent woman's home. That's some police work.

every officer on that raid and the judge(?) that rubberstamped the warrant all need to be jailed. Failing justice, they should be killed, they are too damn dangerous to be allowed to roam free. How is what they did, not criminal and unacceptable.

Unfortunately, at 92, she probably doesn't have any close enough relatives capable of vendetta. That's too damn bad.

I am really sick of community death squads.

In fact, I propose from now on we all use the proper appellation for these criminals and label them CDS. COMMUNITY DEATH SQUADS.

That is what they have become.

let's start trying to pass some laws that limit what actions can be taken on the word of ONE "informant" aka guy looking to save his own ass.

Perhaps on the sworn testimony of at least 3 informants and they can surveil the person or residence for a minimum time frame before taking ANY action. If the suspect can be arrested elsewhere then they MUST do that rather then endanger the officers, neighbors, and suspect's life. If it turns out the guys are all lying they get life. That's a good start to stop this crap.
