If every gun store owner stood up and pushed back like this, and acted as a hub for educating customers about their rights and government abuses, we would really have a force for change. Logically, a gun store should be the focal point in a community not just as a source of arms, but as an authority in all matters gun-related, including being a disseminator of information about pending legislation, and a leader in education and activism for promoting the right to keep and bear arms.
That most fear speaking out lest they anger "Master" will not save them--as we've seen, dirty work is best done in the dark. If the gun store you patronize isn't a leader in this regard, ask them why not. And ask yourself why you don't do business with one that is.
We tend as human beings to absorb the attitudes of those around us. If we associate with the timid, the quiet, the cowed, the afraid-to-rock-the-boat, guess what mindset we will adopt?
Why would any man want to align himself with any but the bold?
Ryan, thanks for giving me an example of leadership under fire.
