And Now, from the Cradle of Liberty...

Boston police are launching a program that will call upon parents in high-crime neighborhoods to allow detectives into their homes, without a warrant, to search for guns in their children's bedrooms.

The program, which is already raising questions about civil liberties, is based on the premise that parents are so fearful of gun violence and the possibility that their own teenagers will be caught up in it that they will turn to police for help, even in their own households.

Well, every time one of them goes out (insert the commission of a felony), his parents are convinced that he was an honor roll student that never hurt a fly (in spite of five priors even).

These parents are disconnected from their children, or in denial. Something needs to be done, not this, bu something ...

What I like is this line:
"If the parents say no, police said, the officers will leave."

Right. Any bets they'll give them a hard time, asking them why if they have nothing to hide, step up the intimidation and coerce their way in...?

Is that marijuana I smell...?
