"The Yahoos Win Again"

The third measure was withdrawn after the first two were voted down. Its chief sponsor, Rep. Jewell Williams, D-Philly, said, "The yahoos win again.

"The yahoos? "Yeah," he says, "the old boys with the boots and the guns."

Thanks, Jewell. That wouldn't be a code word for "white," would it?

You've removed all doubt as to what this is all about--using force of law to impose your evil prejudices. You've certainly relieved us of any obligation to be civil in our communications with you. But tell me: how many "Yahoos" committed "gun murders" in your district over the past year--as opposed to your constituents?

And hasn't gRendell stopped howling in mad pain yet?

Great. You inspired me to write to this racist piece of ..... something... and express my opinion, as a "Yahoo".

I feel so dirty trying to communicate with these troglodytes.

I got a response from the "representative". Read about it here if you are interested.

Maybe Rep Williams needs a copy of the 'Racists Origins of the GA. Gun Control Laws' sent to him. That way he can see what happens to unarmed people when others wish them evil.

Well, in Philadelphia, where there's a murder and five shootings a day, that would mean using the Lincoln Stadium, Wachovia Center and Citizens Bank Park as long-term incarceration centers.

This statement represents what I think is a fallacy. If Philadelphia is anything like Chicago (and I bet it is) the vast majority of gun crime and homicides are perpetrated by repeat offenders. It is not as if each murder/shooting was committed by a unique person.

If you started seriously locking offenders up you'd probably see the crime rates dwindle well before filling any stadium.

dwlawson- Plus, if you decriminalized effective self defense a lot of these violent repeat offenders would be culled from society and would not be a problem. Crime is a solved problem.... government just hates the solution.

Of course Govt hates the solution. After all, once people realise once again that it is less expensive and more effective to be self-reliant, all of those govt parasites will be out of work. Yes, some of them are not parasites, and those are the ones who will be able to open private businesses to fill the void.
