Couched in Tyranny

Kentucky Representative Tim Couch filed a bill this week to make anonymous posting online illegal.

The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site.

Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted.

In other words, the nitwit wants to make this illegal:

Representative Couch says he filed the bill in hopes of cutting down on online bullying.
Because we all know state enforcement by armed agents who have no qualms about destroying a citizen rather than respecting the First Amendment is so much more preferable than "cyber bullying. "

How do dolts like this get elected dogcatcher?

Feel free to leave anonymous comments below so I can forward them to this wienerhead. Just make sure you don't intimidate or threaten, but it is OK to bully just enough to make him cry...

What the hell is wrong with these republicans and their Anti-American laws...

It's not bullying that he's trying to stop. It's probably to stop people from speaking out anonymously against their higher-ups.

Mr. Couch, you're a douche. There. And I'm only half-anonymous. My name is Stephen.

Mr. Couch, (Mr. because you don't seem to be much of a representative of the liberties of the people you 'serve') will your 'no anonymous' posting lead down the road to the publishing of the names of witnesses to a crime? After all if they believe what they are saying why should they be afraid to say it? Plus, they could just be lying bullies. If your concern is 'The Children' (a registered trademark of the left) why not take the novel approach of letting the parents deal with it. You and your kind are the reason people fear their gov't. With your bunch nothing is beyond the scope of the legislative pen. Why not concentrate on making the people you 'represent' more free when you leave office than when you entered? Next time you run for office I may anonymously donate to your opponent or should that be illegal too? :)

Wait, wait, wait. You mean to tell me that a grown "man" is worried about people being bullied on the INTERNET?
Just how big of a nanny state are we getting to be?
Give me a break. This dolt needs to go get his drool bib back on and go back to selling pencils on the street corner.

"Represntative Couch says enforcing this bill if it became law would be a challenge." Ya think? What are you, f'n retarded?

Would that mean all of Mark Twain's books would become illegal because he's not using his real name?
I believe the First Amendment allows American citizens to call themselves any name they wish. To force people to only be able to use their legal names would also make Halloween costumes against the law because people would be hiding who they are.
I'm sure Bozo (not his real name for the record) knows this law if the cirrus passes it would sooner or later go to the USSC and more then likely lose. But Mr. Bozo get's to say, "I had a good bill that became law and was over turned by a bad court ruling". Somehow he will turn this bill into protecting the children while he's at it, attacking American values that Mark Twain live using.

I can't believe this guy is trying to do this. He obviously has no idea the kind of power this would strip from the free press. Anonymity and free press go hand in hand.

"The fine would be five-hundred dollars for a first offense and one-thousand dollars for each offense after that."

That is outrageous. So now anyone who wants to speak out, but doesn't want to be attacked by lunatics who disagree is going to be subject to exorbitant fines? The free press is the back bone of any free society and this would put those who wish to speak out in greater danger of "bullying" and threatening in the real world.

He needs to stop wiping his ass with the Constitution and read it.
