A Dullard in Dallas

While Texans certainly are within their rights to carry licensed weapons nearly everywhere, schools are among the few safe havens where guns simply have no place.

OK: what are you personally prepared to do if someone brings one there?

Idiot.

Safe for WHOM?
There's a high school here directly across the street from a Project Exile billboard. They have a gun confiscated about every three weeks, that we know about, and a shooting every four to six months.
Seems that haven, like heaven, isn't too near here.

"Safe haven"? How does a lack of self-defense tools translate to "safe"? It doesn't. This person is a liar.

Even with a license, and permission from the school board, you're not trustworthy enough.

"What is he prepared to do?" Throw a book at them. Not "Throw THE book at them," but actually heave school supplies in their direction.
But what if they take away your unabridged dictionary and use it against you? Webster or Smith and Wesson? Gutenberg or Glock? Hmm, let me think...
And when people DIE because of his recommendations, well, it'll be OUR fault because we insist on the right to own implements of destruction.

TODAY, Knoxville, Tennessee, a student shoots another fatally in the high school cafeteria.
Could have been self-defense. With the tendency of some people to view sudden violence as entertainment, an argument can turn into a scuffle into a beating into a murder before anyone tries to get help.
The law about guns in schools? Pffft. How about a law against floods, or landslides.

Woman's body found, Little Rock National Park, Arkansas. No information about cause of death yet, but my guess is, someone violated the no-guns law, and someone didn't.

What do you do? Why you cower under your desk until a State Approved agent is there to deal with the situation.

Check out all the comments that follow the story.

The editorial writer is pretty well taken to task for their ignorance about the subject by many well-spoken folks.

Guns had no place in Virginia Tech, either. That worked out well. NOT!
