Military Roadblocks in CA?

The Marine Corps Air and Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) Provost Marshal (head of a unit of military police) and the local California Highway Patrol office will begin working together 12/12 — and through the holiday season — in a joint effort to reduce accidents and drinking and driving. The combined mutual cooperation between the Marine Corps Military Police and State enforcement officers will begin somewhere along Highway 62. The CHP will set up DUI roadblocks with the presence of Military Police. A violation of the Posse Comitatus Act.
I can't find anything about this in a regular news search (which, as we've seen, can mean very little) or on any Marine sites I've checked (although they do have a "Hwy 62 Kill Zones" slideshow here, but it doesn't mention enforcement).

I'll need independent confirmation, including the scope and nature, before I venture an opinion. Anyone with knowledge or contacts, please educate the rest of us.

I'll try calling the base later today--as I post this, it's 5:33 AM their time.

UPDATE:I spoke with Gy Sgt Cox, named in the linked report. Nice guy.

They've got four or five Marines observing so they can learn and apply the lessons on base. I understand concerns over mission creep, but I'm just not seeing posse comitatus as an issue here, as there is "unequivocally" no assistance or enforcement.

the slide-show appears to be IE-only, for whatever reason. it may work in windows/firefox but it does not work in linux/firefox (iceweasel, specifically).

i'm interested to see it, so while it might be a minor point, i'll see about conversion.

Lets look at history to see attacks on human rights by these very same groups of evilness.
Remember in New Orleans the CA state pigs and National Guard members were going door to door disarming citizens in their own homes. Remember the CA pigs beating up the 90 pound, 80 something year old woman when she showed them her little gun after they asked her to show it to them.
First thing people need to understand, government parasites have zero respect for the citizens and their intentions are not in the citizens best interest.

The militia of montana and alex jones have videotaped troops "assisting law enforcement" on several occasions, running drills where they put volunteers in mock camps, etc. The mainstream media usually won't cover it. They didn't cover it when marines were searching people's bags at the Super Bowl.

Why aren't the marines killing or arresting these Liberty Eradication Operatives that they see violating the Constitution? Isn't that part of their "keeping us free" mission?

Does he have that in writing with his name on it, so if that should be "overlooked" at some point during the time his ass is in the frying pan?

somehow marines who can't set up a roadblock seems a bit silly, and if they were really concerned I'd be willing to bet they could find someone to come to the base and train them. Hell, remember the troops being stationed HERE that are supposed to be a quick response team. Betcha they know how to set up a checkpoint.

It's yet another desensitization training procedure for the sheeple to get them used to the idea. It's also a "get the military on board" through less sinister means. "gee guys you can take the guns, remember when you were out at the DUI checkpoint? This is just a safety measure too"

I understand the skepticism. I've taken no small amount of heat from some for pointing out militarization concerns, including with Marine drills in Indianapolis some months ago.

Be that as it may, my read on this is not that the military doesn't know how to do checkpoints, but there are specific DUI protocols they want to observe to apply on base.

Anyone is, of course, free to draw their own conclusion and disagree with me, but that's my read. Sometimes things are as they're represented to be. The pity is that our government has given us so much cause to distrust it.

Sure, I could be wrong, but in the absence of evidence to the contrary, I'm not uncomfortable accepting the "observer" explanation at face value.

Alex Jones at PrisonPlanet.com has been reporting on this for days. He has both news articles and videos about this rampant crime (if one assumes that violating Posse Comitatus is a crime, as I do).

Lots more underground news, and pro 2A articles at http://DonUSA.blogspot.com Please visit, bookmark, and refer others. Thank you.

Jeeze I miss the good ol' days (circa 9 years ago or so) when military operations on US soil were considered sort of, i dunno, what's the word? Uh, illegal?

Oh well. I suppose that defending Freedom means stripping it away from the citizenry bit by bit, then over time in bigger chunks, perhaps 'for safe keeping, for our sake' - maybe they're storing it up in Fort Knox for later...

I heard somewhere that "They hate us for our Freedom" so why not give 'em a little less to hate us over? Hmmmmm...
