A: (While shaking head and with an disgusted look) They just don't listen.
I bring it up because that attitude seems to apply to so many cases of "Only One" violence resulting in their beating a detainee, yet the same intense social stigma is rarely attached.
I'm no sociologist, but it sure looks like our culture has a dysfunctional relationship with and dependency on its abusers...

I think the tasteless joke you're thinking of is:
What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?
Nothing, she's already been told twice.
That might even be more tasteless but oh well.
I have to wonder when the woman will be charged with interfering with an officer of the law.
