Dial 911 and...

A 911 operator is under investigation for lecturing a kidnapping victim who was later found slain. [More]
Nice job there. I wonder if he'd have hustled a bit more if she'd told him she had a gun?

Oh, and look--the perp had "16 prior felony arrests with three convictions, including a conviction for murder in 1989."

A career criminal murders again. Where have I heard that before? Sounds like they need to disarm you and me.

Here, a man in his 20s is being sought in the shooting deaths of two teens in the projects. He is, of course, a previously convicted felon wanted for murder and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
Also, two TEENAGERS killed a fellow student at their school. They knew each other from drinking and taking LSD together and generally enjoying being thug posers, but had some kind of a disagreement. The "victim" brandished a BB pistol during an argument at a burger joint at night, and the others cut loose with a real one and a semi-automatic rifle. Of course one of the boys was A FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, yet out and back in high school.
Both boys, who are white, have been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Taliehk Taliaferro. The black community is outraged. The local Million Moms haven't been heard from, but we know it's coming.
SYSTEM ERROR. FATAL SYSTEM ERROR. FATAL

After listening to the call, the first hint of anything more than "I think my co-worker is acting a little funny today" is 16 minutes into the call audio, and at that point, the 911 operator says he is dispatching a police officer.

Bashing the operator for not sending in the cavalry right away seems a stupid thing to say in light of that fact.

The operator should be bashed instead for calling a potential hostage and insisting she "talk straight" with him in the likely presence of a kidnapper.

Notwithstanding, this still highlights the uselessness of "911" in a true emergency.

Additionally, the operator comes across as very dull-witted: the victim was blatantly being evasive with details, but was crystal clear when asked questions which could be answered with a casual answer such as "yeah".

This parasite is on the job. Of course this parasite is still on the job. It was only a piece of shit citizen that got killed no big deal because there are hundreds of millions of them out there.
The simple fact that this piece of shit parasite is still on the job proves once again all parasites see the citizen body as, Us vs Them.

Sadly, any woman who would take up with such a man is not mature or responsible enough to defend herself meaningfully in such a situation.

She made some seriously bad choices, obviously.

I'm not sure it is really possible for a telephone operator to make enough of a difference so she would not suffer the consequences of those bad choices.

Did that 911 operator make the best decisions? Perhaps not, but let's not pile blame on him for HER bad choices too.

The lesson here is - if your hands are free, don't reach for a phone, grab the jerk by the balls and SQUEEZE as hard as you can! Or punch him in the nuts! That'll take the fight right out of the worthless scum long enough for you to get away or perhaps punch him in the throat as HARD as you can. Yes, I would be a bit violent in my self-defense, but if somebody thinks they are going to kidnap me without a fight, they will learn that they are sadly mistaken.

Yes, I would be a bit violent in my self-defense....

"One bleeding-heart type asked me in a recent interview if I did not agree that 'violence begets violence.' I told him that it is my earnest endeavor to see that it does. I would like very much to ensure — and in some cases I have — that any man who offers violence to his fellow citizen begets a whole lot more in return than he can enjoy." -Jeff Cooper, "Cooper vs. Terrorism", Guns & Ammo Annual, 1975
