Meddling with Powers

Rep. Grant Burgoyne, D-Boise, spoke against the bill, saying no one ever expects to see an invasion or a declaration by the governor of martial law, but no one expected to see planes crashing into the World Trade Center either.

"We're meddling here with one of the most fundamental and necessary powers, and I think we need to be very careful how we do that," he told the House. [More]

Interesting perspective--it's not government infringing on your rights, it's you meddling with their powers.

I'd say this country isn't big enough for such divergent philosophies. Something's gotta give.

Who do you think will fold first: You or Grant?

now i know physiognomy is thoroughly discredited as a science, but, man, reading those words and taking a look at that feller, i wonder if maybe there isn't some kind of correlation, there.

Ha!

I just read the article to my wife, and what that moron from Boise, Burgoyne, said.

Her response, "One of our fundamental powers just might find it's way to his forehead".

If this clown thinks that taking away our firearms during times of emergency, martial law or foreign invasion, is a fundamental and necessary power that the 'government" has, I would conclude that this guy is a quisling of the worst kind.

And people really elect idiots like this?

A lot of the "fundamental power" might just go INTO to their heads in Wyoming as well...

I really hope they never try it.

"And people really elect idiots like this?"

Doesn't every presidential election for the past couple hundred years answer that question for you?

"If voting made a difference, it would be illegal." -- Claire Wolfe

So, another law to require a government obey THE law.
"legislation that would prevent the government from seizing guns in cases of "extreme emergency."
I believe in legislation AND.
Who would fold first?
Perforations make folding easy. "Fold along dotted line."
Bur-GONE hasn't had his finger in the wind lately.

Let us all hope that those who voted for this bill are not reelected, now that they have identified themselves as aspiring dictator wannabes.

At least the Idaho House did not buy the bigoted arguments of the buffoon Burgoyne. It is a shame such laws need even be considered.
