I read this article as well, and my first thought was “why even talk to the guy? Let alone argue.”
In my state I have no obligation to tell the robber to drop his gun, give up, or announce my intentions in any manner.
Step 1. If possible maneuver into a tactically superior firing position.
Step 2. Engage target.
Step3. Repeat step 1 and 2 as needed if possible.
Oh jeez, I missed the one year anniversary of the Man Trap. Has it been that long already?
