Why are So Many 'Conservatives' Following Michael Savage?

I have never understood the Michael Savage phenomenon. He's loud, he's abrasive, and he's hardly the "conservative" so many apparently think he is. I guess tapping into the border issue has convinced some that he is a kindred spirit. For anyone who place the Constitution first, he is not.

Case in point, today's amazingly ignorant screed, "Why are the police outgunned?":

"So I put the question to the Savage Nation. Is it time to ban assault rifles? What are they really needed for?" [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column shows the true nature of an "obnoxious carnival barker" who essentially claims--if you read what he's saying--that the Second Amendment is useless.

This one is important to share, because corporate media foists him on a public that doesn't know any better and represents him as a leading conservative voice. Don't let him--or them--get away with it. Tell a friend?

Also meet an honorable Savage, see a reminder about a TV show you probably ought to watch, find out about a rally in Oregon, and, of course, get the very latest commentary from my fellow GREs.

Good editorial - I turned off savage the day he announced a $6000campaign contribution to jerry brown - What a duplicitous looser.

I only listened to him here and there.

I turned him off for good when he had the gall to attack John Walsh on the occasion of the solving of his son's murder.

I read that yesterday, but there didn't seem to be a way to comment even though he claimed to be asking for comments.

Where the hell does he get the idea that cops are "outgunned"? He seems to be living in some bizarro world where gun stores sell things not available to cops...

You do know that "Savage" is not his real last name?

His real name is Wiener.

I alluded to that, kaveman, in the "good Savage" section where I said "they hadn't assumed the name."

But my instincts told me that people might focus on that instead of the issue at hand. I already see one "Zionist" comment there, and that is just ripe with potential to go way off track of the discussion I'd like to have.

Mike Savage is a squish with a microphone, and a mouth. No more a conservative than a 2x4.

Talk radio for Beavis and Butthead.

Anonymous, do you know that both John Walsh and Marc Klaas, the other missing and exploited children champion -- daughter Polly was kidnapped and murdered -- are gun-haters? Kinda ironic. People don't kidnap kids with guns, they use puppies or candy.

Once again the invalid question, 'who needs an assault rifle anyway?,' is asked by a mental invalid. I looked for a way to leave a remark but found none. Funny, the Brady Campaign website ain't got one neither. Might it be they brook no criticism? Hmmm....

The 1% Rule holds true for "assault weapons" as well as for guns in general. 99% are never used in a crime. No sane person would even entertain the idea that a ban would be beneficial, UNLESS he wants to be among the Favored when the Regime starts making and using those lists. Martin Niemoeller thought the Nazis would be GOOD for Germany. Economic renewal after the worldwide Depression, strong law enforcement and social order...
HE was arrested and imprisoned, and wrote the famous "First they came for the ___, and I did not speak up because I was not a ___.... and then they came for me, and by that time there was no one to speak up."
The media don't believe history.

They will. Even as Savage grovels, bows and scrapes to appear "moderate -- just like the NRA -- the Left plans to get him off the air or inflict a renewed "Fairness" Doctrine. All broadcasters would be required to provide equal time to the opposite view. Rush Limbaugh used to counter that with "I AM equal time." I never thought so; I saw him as another elite trying to APPEAR to be a constitutionalist.
Well, it's good that the Regime thinks Savage and Limbaugh are "right-wing nut extremist terrorist-enablers." While they're busy slaying paper tigers, actual tigers will stealth into position.

Michael Savage owns a pre-ban COLT AR-15. He used to pose with his scary black rifle on his website until recently. This loudmouth braggged about his Ruger mini 14 and an Arctic Mauser on the radio too.

The Savage Nation sounds much like the drunks who used to call people names and start fights on the CB radio. A hypocrite is armed to the teeth because a big mouth gets him into trouble. He applied for a CCW permit, after getting a taste of his own venom from the liberals around San Fransicko.

We are dealing with the classic example of a paranoid gun nut. Dianne Feinstein won't have far to look, if she wants to take an assault rifle away from a crazy right wing redneck, who is just across the Golden Gate bridge in Marin county.

Keep an eye on Savage. He has been fired for being homophobic on MSNBC. KSFO fired him for saying the word, "f-ck" on the radio too. Other stations pulled the plug, when he made fun of autistic children a couple of years ago. He will harass somebody else again sooner or later. Be ready to support the anti-gun mayor and board of supervisors; when they demand that this crazy bastard be fired...
