We're the Only Ones Concrete Enough

A nitpicking cop crackdown on concrete at Ground Zero is costing taxpayers millions and snarling construction at the already behind-schedule Freedom Tower and other structures at the site, cement suppliers say.

Cops harass their mixing trucks with inspections that take so long, the concrete starts to harden and can't be used, the firms say. [More]

Maybe they just don't have the right placards...?

What a great idea--make uniformed public employee union goons the "Only Ones" who can carry guns. Then turn them loose to do strong-arm shakedowns.

The corruption is just so blatant. What "a wretched hive of scum and villainy."

Good. Keep on making enemies, boys.

Squeeze.

Since most cops seem to be overly-constipated felons with guns, it would rely that holding up cement trucks so that they can't discharge their load, falls into line with their anal problems. Misery, as well as ineptitude, loves company. You know, a bran muffin in the morning, and daily use of the Constitution, would help that.

At least in Mos Eisley space port, one could be armed to defend oneself.

Did you read the comments? People are claiming it is a GOOD thing they are inspecting the concrete! I guess reading for comprehension went out with critical thinking.

What the hell does nypd know about concrete? What the hell are they 'inspecting', tires and brake lines? Bloomberg cooking up a new tax for concrete vendors that will mandate another sticker on the trucks and another page in the drivers' logs?

Backs up perfectly what is going around this country. The cities are hiring people to become cops that have limited IQ's. I heard from someone I believe more than I don't that the limit is an IQ of 95. Which makes all the sense in the world why we are seeing all of these hundreds of out of control idiots that are cops. There's no other logical reasoning to explain it.

Yeah, AJ there is. These guys aren't doing it on their own hook. They are doing because someone upstream didn't get a rake-off.

Another thing that got my attention:

"One day you have 300 union guys waiting on a deck to pour concrete," said a cement company executive. "They're all making $70 an hour and now they're all just standing around. Do you know how expensive that is?"

unions! no wonder we cant make shit here anymore!
