Here’s a simple idea: You can be for the rights of law-abiding gun owners but also for common-sense policies to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. [More]I agree--if by "simple idea" he means only a simpleton would swallow his deceptive rant.
Howard Nemerov does a good job explaining why.

Here's a simple solution, Richard. Stop screwing around with our freedom, or you'll get your balls clawed off, and we'll do the same to everyone you send, squish-boy. He reminds me of Medved, the Action Hero, who's prepared to do something about injustice, as long as it doesn't involve real action.

Hmm, he's a veteran. X-ray technician. Musta soaked up too many rays to remember his Oath.
Keeping guns out of the hands of criminals? Pretty simple: you pick them up when the criminals are disabled or dead after an attack.
Obviously, if we were diligent, the number of criminals with any sort of weapon would diminish rapidly. And those who survived might get a clue... or sufficient jail time - at their own expense.
Nah, much too simple a solution.
"I fully support the rights of law-abiding citizens under the Second Amendment."
Him and Bloomberg both, just ask Burress. With "full support" like that, who needs opposition?

My former mayor tried to make the same argument to defend his membership in this anit-gun group. After I copied him on the email sent to a local paper requesting that a story be done on the issue, he decided that the group wasn't for him. Less than a week later he was no longer listed on the groups website.
