Reasonable Restrictions

Even though a pocket knife is not considered a weapon under New York State penal code, the district also prohibits students from possessing anything "that reasonably can be considered a weapon." [More]
Why is it the biggest idiots seem to gravitate toward education administration jobs in public schools and universities?

Bill St. Clair has contact information in case you'd like to ask an expert.

I was literally just talking to my friend who's a high school teacher in CT about this kind of thing.

He's been assaulted a couple times, physical assault, not the constant or near constant verbal harassment. Not by the union asshats either.

He's finally come to the conclusion that "those who can't, teach" is true for 95+% of people who "teach"

He bought his first gun a couple weeks ago. Only a shot, for now. To top it off his dad was a cop, not an "only one" as he saw the shit slide and decided he wasn't taking a ride down that slippery slope and retired before the "only ones" got him killed.

He's reconsidering teaching as a profession from the sound in his voice. I can't blame him.

I'm not at all surprised by this lack of thinking. I just hope the wild ones start doing their rumpus with pencils, pens, shoelaces, and water. I'd love to see the excuses why those inanimate objects wouldn't be banned as weapons.

Don't forget guitar strings. In 15 years of heavy business travel by air (something I wouldn't wish on anyone) I always wondered why anyone would consider a string cutter/winder as a potential weapon, but not the strings themselves.

Then again, that would be applying rational thinking to hoplophobia. Sorry, dumb mistake.

Hell, Kevin, take a soda can like they serve on board and see how long it takes you to bend and tear until you get a cutting edge.

Shhhh...

Just take a few full soda cans and put them in a pillow case, a'la Sean Penn in Bad Boys style.

Or my personal favorite is rolling a magazine up, putting rubber bands on it for an improvised baton.

Aim for the eyes, throat and you've got one hurting 'terrorist' if done correctly.

Those people are just part of the leftist crews who grew out of the 60's, either actual hippie types or their kids. They just love to fuck with someone who has his life under control like this young man. I too hope he thinks about his desire for a military career but I hope he goes through with it. We will need more people like him down the road.

Because there are more job openings than in mass media journalism.
