School ‘Gun Violence’ PSA Overlooks the Most Obvious Warning Sign

“Gun violence is preventable when you know the signs,” Sandy Hook Promise assures us. Not all is. Not as long as “progressive” policies in addition to a citizen disarmament agenda are still in play. Not as long as the biggest bullies public schoolchildren generally face are activist teachers and administrators forcing an agenda on them. Not as long as a significant number of boys are drugged for being boys.  And not as long as the one thing that will protect children from predators is ridiculed and prohibited. Especially since the only thing that will stop the killer in the PSA will be when armed men show up. [More]
Oh look. Another astroturf gun-grabber "PSA" that won't allow for feedback and that ignores the biggest warning sign of all -- the one with the slashed red circle over a gun.  No wonder the media is giving it all kinds of publicity masked as news.

We're the Only Ones Dumbed Down Enough

Ald. Anthony Beale, the Chairman of the City Council Police Committee, suggests the city should eliminate one specific requirement to become a Chicago Police officer in order to increase diversity in the ranks. He says applicants should no longer be required to complete at least two years of college to get on the force.

The reduced education requirement would "level the playing field" for minority applicants, said Beale. [More]
Yeah, what kind of moron would want these guys educated before we set them loose on the populace?

Tell me this doesn't remind you of the "Support Your Local Polece" PSA from "Radio Dinner" (11:43 on side 2)

Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.

Bloomberg-Affiliated Propagandists Asking Oregon Gun Shops For Help With Anti-Gun PSA

A Washington DC “Democrat media consulting firm” affiliated with Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns (and a host of anti-gun politicians) is offering Oregon gun dealers $1,500 to allow them to film an on-location “public service announcement,” Oregon Firearms Federation announced Friday. The filmmakers need a gun store as a backdrop for an actor to tell viewers how “easy” it is to comply with form requirements . . . [More]

How About Wrangling an Answer Out of Them First?

I want to stand before the CEO of Levi Strauss wearing my Wrangler jeans and let him know he will not enable the disarming of the American people. [More]
Not giving aid and comfort to Levi I grok, but why reward Wrangler?

They're perfectly happy to accept undeserved support from gun owners, but then duck answering why they got a wardrobe credit in a Bloomberg gun-grab "PSA."

Perhaps, Col. West, your louder voice and longer reach will draw enough attention to get an explanation.

‘Gun shop’ wasn’t only thing fake in CeaseFire ‘social experiment’ PSA

It had previously been known that the “gun store proprietor” behind the counter was an actor -- and one who has previously made a living glorifying fake “gun violence” -- but up until now, speculation on if the “customers” were also plants has been just that. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report provides another venue to expose the deceptive tactics of the AstroTurf gungrabbers in their desperation to influence public opinion.

Still Recovering--Abbreviated Blog

The blog is going to take an abbreviated format today as I continue recovering from what turned out to be pneumonia, and which put me in the ER a couple nights ago after I came to on the floor following the mother of all 3 a.m. coughing fits.  I'm doing much better, and humble thanks to those of you who sent prayers and well-wishes my way.

I am going to try to do another GRE today, but in order to get that done, I need to minimize things here.  It's already after noon and I am just getting started due to an interrupted sleep schedule and the need to fight my natural inclination to gut things through.  As such, instead of multiple blog posts, I'm just going to add links and commentary to this post as I go through the day--so expect this post to grow as I add more items. And my apologies, but I'm going to need to forgo credits and reply emails today.

Again, please hold off on emails and comments until I signal things are back to normal.  Here's the list I'll be adding to:

Bossy the Cow
Sesame Street is in trouble now.
“I think the word ‘bossy’ is just a squasher,” “Glee” star Jane Lynch says in a campaign PSA, while Beyonce states: “I’m not bossy… I’m the boss.” Actress Jennifer Garner asserts that “being labeled something matters,” and famed fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg adds the kicker that we “should just ban the word 'bossy'.”
I guess it doesn't strike these privileged cows as ironic that they're being ... uh... bossy about this?  Leave it to the Prozis to not be satisfied burning books -- in their insatiable quest to control everything, including and especially the language and the framing of terms -- they demand to ban words.

Indoctrinating the Inmates
Grand Island Student Refuses to Change NRA T-Shirt
Good for the kid.  He's certainly a better man than the "adults" running the school.  I know a recurring comment on stories like these is to take your kid out of public school.  For some families, overburdened by taxes where they are paying for public schools anyway, and a manipulated economy, that could mean the difference between getting by or living in poverty. Massive and deep changes must be made to "the system" itself before it's realistic or fair to expect that of them, which is why being an involved parent leading by example and taking responsibility for instilling and guiding values is still the first and best defense in preparing children to deal with the outside world and the insanity it often tries to impose.

NRA to Score Murthy

I just received this email from WarOnGuns Correspondent JM:
I just watched Chris Cox on The Kelly File flatly state that they would be scoring the Surgeon General vote in the Senate. Mr Codrea, I want to thank you for being a decisive factor in this. Without the pressure and public shaming of the NRA, they certainly would have weaseled their way out of scoring this vote as they were clearly attempting to do.  Thank you! I apologize if this is bothering you because you have been sick, but I think you deserve credit for causing the NRA to do what it's membership wants for once!
I hope I played a small role in making that happen.  Mike Vanderboegh told me "I await the NRA official announcement but the trend is good."

I await it, too.

From the GREs:

About Yesterday's GRE:

Just fyi, I am not endorsing this effort--I tried to do a straight reporting job on this to allow people to learn more and to assess the pros and cons for themselves--I believe their hearts are in the right place and don't want to discourage grassroots activism, but I also tried to steer folks to understand some of my concerns and some of the flaws.

That said, commentator russn8r expertly defines those flaws.

Snoop Dogg dispenses investment advice in #ImUnloading campaign

But back to Snuff Dogg & pals, and their stupid new “PSH” ... I mean, “PSA,” even though the “progressives” using them would no doubt have #unloaded in their shorts had they been in the car he was driving when a gun was #unloaded into a rival gang member... [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes the antis divesting themselves of all credibility when they turn to #gunthugs to gin up a desire to disarm.

A "Progressive" Paradox

If someone wanted to hire George Takei in his capacity as a professional actor to film a PSA disapproving homosexuality, and he refused to provide his services based on his principles and beliefs, how would that be any different from a Christian baker declining to decorate a two-groom cake? [More]

For that matter, why should any actor be free to decline roles requiring gay romantic contact based on a personal aversion?

And why are all those who are ... uh ...  butthurt over this so silent when the Muslims do it?  Anybody see any lawsuits over that one?

Challenge for all the "crusaders": place gay wedding cake orders at Islamic bakeries to find out how many are receptive. If any decline, sue them.

I dare you.

School denying permission for anti-gun PSA raises legal questions

With that being the case, if no one gave Sincic permission to bring a firearm or imitation firearm (as the one in the video may be) onto school property, it's presence becomes a legitimate matter for public and legal inquiry. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report actually agrees with an anti-gunner and encourages everyone who is not a coward to share! It also notes it sure would be nice if these people demanding new laws would exhibit an understanding of those that already exist -- maybe by not breaking them in front of everybody...

We're the Only Ones Dee-de-Deee Enough

During an I.Q. test commissioned by the defense, he scored 77 — a mark that ranks in the bottom sixth percentile. The average score is 100.

A report prepared by Sanford L. Drob, the psychologist who administered the I.Q. test, questioned whether Mr. Medina had the mental capacity to fully understand his work with the D.E.A.

I dunno. He sounds like a perfect match to me.

I have no idea if the allegations of a DEA-ordered robbery are true or false, but the mere fact that this guy is on the team speaks volumes. I'm quoting from memory, so it probably won't be exact, but this reminds me of the "Suport Your Locol Polece (PSA)" track on the old "National Lampoon Radio Dinner" album, where the actor playing ex-Philly mayor Frank Rizzo said:
So help take morons, psychopaths and mental defectives off the street and put them where they belong--on the force.

So Long and Thanks for All the Fish

Dan Gross, our immediate past president, has stepped down. [More]
They just can't compete and gotta be hatin' Bloomberg for squeezing them out of the top prestige spot. And showing them who's boss in no uncertain terms:
The other noteworthy revelation, at least to this correspondent, is that MAIG was not only pleased to have edged out the Brady Campaign as the major force to be reckoned with when it comes to political and media influence, but that Bloomberg had unilaterally (although not unpredictably) assumed the mantle of supreme commander. This came through loud and clear in an exchange on just who had claim to the use of celebrities that resulted in the “PSA” where various famous entertainers “demanded a plan” (rather brilliantly exposed for hypocrisy in a video showing the same media luminaries profiting from "gunplay").
"If true that you are attempting to intervene in the work we are doing with celebrities on Demand A Plan and drive them toward Brady: don’t,” MAIG Executive Director Mark Glaze told Brady Campaign President Dan Gross in no uncertain terms via email.
To be clear, that was not a request. That was an order.
That’s the way Mike Bloomberg does things. And he’s used to being obeyed.

Antis Still Pushing Ripoff 'PSA'

From WarOnGuns Correspondent Mike F:
Today, at a school staff meeting, we had the pleasure to watch this:
It paints those of us who read firearm articles, watch legitimate firearm videos and train safely with firearms as degenerate killers.
That's certainly part of it.

And like true "progressives," they totally ripped off someone else's innocent idea and perverted it to fit their agenda:

Disarm because people of corrupt character demand it. Yeah, there's an idea.
