Sailor Curt thinks one of them is activism. He just added a detailed comment to my original Handgun Club of America article that I think bears special consideration.

Legion, you must know different gun owners than the ones I do. I don't know any war lovers, and the people I'm close with all seem to be pretty healthy and in touch with their loving natures.
Salt of the earth is how I've found most Bill of Rights defenders to be.
