How can I? I haven't read the whole thing, and I'm not sure I'm qualified to know what all the implications are anyway.
Yes, quite possibly there are some rollbacks on presumed authorities. But when you talk about putting "checks on the government’s ability to comb through an individual’s financial, medical, business, library, gun purchases or other sales records," or "sneak and peak searches," I gotta first wonder how closely the Constitution is being adhered to.
If CCRKBA is going to urge us to call our senators to pass something, I think it's incumbent on them to give us a comnprehensive pro/con implications analysis of each section of the bill.
People need to be educated about this before they can be expected to blindly support it.

Um... who is this group? They scare me only because they call themselves the "Common sense gun lobby" and that always smacks of hideous liberal gun grabbers.
The only "common sense" gun lobby that I could think of would be one that tried to abolish all gun laws...
Why do people need to be informed? Nobody, absolutely nobody was informed in Congress before it passed the first time. Which is surprising if you recall that the bill was already written and only awaiting a suitable disaster prior to unveiling.
The Patriot Act is a repeal of the Constitution and as long as it stands there are no checks on government authority, except the determination of an armed people. We have the armed people in the country, but we don't have the determination. If we did, we wouldn't have Patriot or any of its supporters re-elected.
