Not tryin' to pick a fight, Jeff, but I disagree with your comment:
I see plenty wrong with it--it creates a special class of citizen, with privileges and immunities not enjoyed by all. I also think ceding authority to "officials" to issue permissions and approvals and conditions for our unalienable rights--particularly the one that "shall not be infringed," is dangerous and wrong.
I see nothing wrong with this idea. It can't hurt, only (hopefully) help if the unthinkable happens.
Besides, don't tell Wayne LaPierre--he thinks only cops should be armed on school campuses, and squelched Sandra Froman suggesting otherwise.

C'mon David, give Wayne a break. What you don't understand is that he and Sarah (Brady) have the same problem and have the same exact plan to solve it, albeit at different purposes.
If something were actually done to solve the problems and makes us safer, in reality, as opposed to "feeling safer" in fantasy, he and Sarah would both have no justification to keep begging money to support their high lifestyles and entree to the high society party circuit.
I think a break for Mr. LP (lying pri...nce?) is appropriate, somewhere about the third cervical.
Why don't we let all adults in the school system carry, if they so choose.
I mean the schools are not exempt from the Constitution.
Almost there, Stan--except I or anyone I delegate through voting don't have the legitimate authority to "let" ANYONE carry. It's simply none of our business unless and until a person so doing begins violating the rights of others.
That's why I'm a GOA member and not an NRA member. Can't stand LaPierre. he just doesn't get it.
I don't want to see two classes, a special, gun owning class including cops, the military, school superintendents, and the other "beautiful" people while regular folks like me can't have them.
Guns for everyone. That's what the Founding Fathers said, and they said it for a reason - it works.

Flowing from that idea. It would follow to reason that, indeed, the superintendents should be armed, AS WELL AS ALL THE CHILDREN whom they are teaching the proper handling and usage of firearms.
Let's see another Columbine or Russian style 'cowardly-jihad' incident take place then! It's real hard to be 'tough' when your staring down the barrel of a rifle - from the muzzle-end!
