MSN: Partnering With Authority

This came out over the weekend when traffic was slow. I'm linking to it here on a higher traffic day because it looks like a lot of site visitors missed it.

Hey Bill. How does it feel to have little 'upstarts' like Google and Yahoo stomp your as* on a regular basis? I bet it really gets you pis*ed!

When you BETRAY the people whom made you rich, it ALL will soon be lost! Why does wealth, almost without exception, corrupt?

David C.said, "How telling. Microsoft/MSN closes down websites that challenge authority, and publicizes those that promote it."

You missed this call just short. Something you don't do often. They are promoting tyranny, not authority. Authority properly exercised is not necessarily a bad thing. Improper exercise of authority and tyranny in all their forms are evil. Those that challenge it are on the side of the angels. Those that promote it,are abominations.

Justice has a way of coming to all eventually. I sure want to be on the side of the angels when it does. I may not make it, for you see, I do not think I can find it in my heart not to feel glee when it comes to those on the other side. Glee at another's misfortune is bad. I just hope there is an exemption for it when that misfortune is the earned product of a life's work and therefore payment instead of actual misfortune. Otherwise I am petty enough to be in the wrong crowd. Damnit!b
