I was taught in a fire arms safety class that when you fire a gun you are legally responcible for what you hit. Specifically I was told that if you hit a person that you were not aiming at, you were guilty of criminal neglegence and would be subject to a large fine on your first offence.
Has anyone else ever heard of this? Was this some BS that guys tell girls so we won't shoot them "accidently".
cindy b--I believe criminal penalties vary based on state laws/jurisdictions, but your point is well taken. I would expect to be so charged if I shot someone.
But then, I'm just an ordinary citizen...
