Yesterday...I saw that the billboard across from the Bayou Shadows apartment entrance was being changed to a bright orange message announcing the opening of a gun show this weekend...Seems disturbing, but maybe that's just me.

Understanding the leftists is the key to knowing their mind. This guy is not hard-core, but, he has been conditioned since birth by their propaganda. First, they ridicule. Second, they lie. A lot. Third, they silence, when and wherever possible. Fourth, they kill or enervate the possibility of dissent by legislation. The last step, legislating something out of existence, is what is going on right now in Christian churches. Legalism. It's how you get rid of the spirit and vigor of anything. It's why the Jews in power at Christ's coming didn't recognize him. They had legalized their faith to death. It's what our Republic is dying from now.
Sean - Excellent, and accurate, observtion. What we are seeing, worldwide, is the culmination of close to 100 years of communist/socialist indoctrination. As you noted, they use the 'letter' to kill the 'Spirit'. Of course this is all orchestrated by their true master.

I think he's just scared that a billboard with a sign for a gunshow could go up within 3 miles of his house. He'd rather have some more big brother in his life instead of billboards.
I think a law that would subject atheists/socialists/communists to government granted privileges rather then God given rights would be a nice wakeup call to these people. There goes your free speech. oops, no free assembly. search and seizure HA! It IS after all what they want, just in this case THEY get the short end of the stick.
