Daley Aims to Pass New Gun Laws

Because the old ones just aren't enough. They never are.

But don't worry--those who urged you to vote for Judy Baar Topinka will stop him.

Without reading it, I'd guess that they're just trying to get to the "sensible" laws passed, which is the point when they've completely disarmed the populace and can really get to work "helping" us...right into the camps and chains.

I cannot adequately express the depth of my loathing for Richard Daley. I live in a part of Illinois that Daley shouldn't have any power over, but, because of this state's perversity, is threatened by his every anti-rights whim.

In reference to voting for Topinka, I realize she was pretty awful with regards to gun rights, but in an election between her and Blagojevich, she was (comparatively speaking), as close to Jeff Cooper as we had a chance of getting (OK--we didn't really have a chance of getting her, either, but you get the idea).

Yes, I realize that Whitney had expressed support for concealed carry, but in addition to his utter unelectability (horrible pseudo-word, I know), he had some pretty unattractive baggage, himself.

45superman--then you tell people she's the lesser of two evils. You don't give her an A rating.

See the difference?

Then, if somebody wants to hold their nose and cast a defensive vote, they're doing it from an informed--as opposed to a misled position.

Point taken, David. By the way, ISRA (Illinois State Rifle Association) is something else you don't want to get me started on. You'll never shut me up--a "with friends like these" situation.

Sometimes I wonder if things could get any worse in this freedom-forsaken state. And then I think of poor Mr. Codrea over in California.

When your roots are deeply ingrained in a state whose politics are loathesome, it's a difficult situation. Thus, the name of my blog: The Subversive. Our only chance is to work for change from within...while we still can.

Good point about the A rating. It's too bad that the Illinois pro-rights groups felt they had to endorse JBT simply because she was the only electable alternative. I had that debate (wasted vote debate) with another pro-rights website owner in Illinois. I asked why they were endorsing JBT over Randall Stufflebeam and was told it was because Stufflebeam didn't stand a chance.

We create our own reality sometimes.
