Speaking for Amerika

"People tend to try to make this sort of a big-city issue," said John Feinblatt, the criminal justice coordinator for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. "But there's nobody more articulate than Chief Knight, who really speaks for small town America. Most members of law enforcement are in small towns. So he sort of speaks for America."
Bloomberg's flack said it. I believe it. That settles it.

Consider the source, Chief Knight that is, not the flack. And yes, he does have four gold stars on his collar. Impressive for the Chief in a town of about 23,000.

This is the same man who, at a MMM meeting to push for renewal of the AWB stated that "the sole purpose of an assault weapon is to kill as many people as possible in the shortest time possible". He was unable to answer why the Cloquet, MN (pop. 12,000) PD would need such weapons in the trunks of their patrol cars, but he promised to get back to me. [crickets chirping]
