I've got five good reasons why restricting hacking tools is not like gun control.But you seem willing to throw guns under the bus in order to keep those tools, and carve out yet another exception for "The Only Ones," as if that will do anything other than ensure corrupt exclusivity.
If you're going to make a statement like "many incidents of gun violence are not caused by criminals," I'd be interested in seeing if you know what you're talking about. How many is "many"? What percentage of "gun violence" perpetrators have no prior criminal affiliations, and what is your source for this claim?
Only a hack or a tool would go around promulgating seemingly authoritative assertions without actual knowledge, don't you think?

"Hacking" tools work because of sloppy coding and the lack of a multi-layered security process. Anyone with knowledge of the vulnerability and a little programming knowledge can create one of these "tools". The more widespread the vulnerability, the easier it is to write "tools", and the more potential damage an attacker can do.
Kind of like how deadly a spray-and-prayer becomes in a gun-free zone.
I still don't know what "gunviolence" means, so I don't feel comfortable commenting on that part. Apparently, the "violence" part can even be an image printed on a shirt.
