Under old gun laws, a gun dealer faced a slap on the wrist for selling an illegal handgun.
Under new laws, its 3-and-a-half years for a loaded handgun, said New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Forgetting for a moment the federal consequences, it's hard to believe that any "authorized journalist" could be this incapable of separating apples from oranges, but there you have it.
Ignorance and bias: so much journalistic malpractice in so little space.

Yeah, that sounds like pretty "reasonable regulation" to me. 3 and 1/2 years is the minimum, automatic sentence for anyone who conceals a loaded firearm without the proper permit or authorization.
Imagine if someone from a neighboring state inadvertently crosses the state line into New York while carrying a firearm. They would be subject to a minimum 3 and 1/2 year sentence for that mistake. Or what if someone from New York has a permit to carry concealed that recently expired? They too would face an automatic 3 and 1/2 year prison sentence for carrying concealed. And since this would be a felony they would become a prohibited person for possesion of a firearm for life.
I guess this is what the anti-gunners consider reasonable.
Under the old laws regulating the press the author would have faced termination for this kind of thing.
Under the new laws not even an apology is needed for shit like this.
Maybe we DO need some laws on the press after all. It's just common sense.
I don't know about you, but I'd never let an illegitimate "prohibition" keep me disarmed. It's too convenient for them: pass counterfeit "laws" against guns, then when you "break" them, say it disqualifies you from ever owning guns.
Oh, and welcome back David!!
