Frederick P. Henry was fleeing arrest and Somerset County Deputy Sheriff Robert Purnell needed to stop him. Purnell reached back to unholster his Taser, then drew and fired at Henry.
But instead of drawing his Taser, designed to merely immobilize suspects, Purnell had mistakenly grabbed his Glock .40-caliber handgun.
Gosh, that really makes you stand back and think. If a highly trained professional "Only One" can make such a mistake, what chance do untrained boobs like you and I have of safely deploying grown-up weapons?

Uh huh. Everyone knows that a GLOCK 22 or 23 feels and handles and points just like a Taser, so it was just an honest mistake.
the .40 is such a womanly round I bet he'd have felt the taser more.
And I thought our Dept was so LAME for actually putting a statement in our taser policy that stated before implementing taser, it is the responsibility of the officer to make sure it is in fact a Taser.
