1,700 Percent!

I know that if I own a gun, the chances of a member of my family or me being shot and killed goes up by 1,700 percent.

Hey, Roger Ray said it, I believe it, that settles it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go clean up that "tidal wave of blood" my guns keep causing. They've invited some assault weapons over, and I'd like to tidy the place up a bit before the killings begin anew.

Again with the "A gun is far more likely to be used in suicide, murder, or unintentional shooting than to kill a criminal" crap.

I'd respond about this totally ignoring the huge number of non-lethal-force instances of firearms used in self defense, but I don't really want to have to register at every farging newspaper across the country just to dispute this nonsense.

Hey... If it's too dangerous for him here he can always move to Europe. Noo violent crime there at all. Jim B

I think this guy just knows that he can't be trusted with a gun. If he had a gun he'd point it around and kill someone.

MiniGlossary-

ASSAULT WEAPON
Any weapon used in an assault (see WEAPON and ASSAULT).

ASSAULT
A crime of violence against another person. Assault refers to the threat of violence caused by an immediate show of force. Assault is often defined to include not only violence, but any physical contact with another person without their consent (i.e. Pushing, Slapping, Hitting, and Spitting)

WEAPON
Webster defines it as "an instrument of offensive or defensive combat." Thus an automobile, baseball bat, bottle, chair, firearm, fist, pen knife or shovel is a "weapon," if so used.
