Nine people were shot in separate incidents in New York on Monday and early Tuesday, police said. Four of the victims died and five others are wounded. Detectives are investigating.

I also can't help but notice it said detectives are investigating, as in after the fact. I can't find anything in this story about them actually preventing anything or protecting anyone...

I also note they haven't actually caught any of the monsters still out there, and have been reduced to begging the disarmed public to help ID them.

Kind'a makes you wonder if there might be a better way...
