Yeah, But What About Before They Get There?

Boston cops have spent the past year undergoing specialized training on how to confront and stop a crazed gunman such as the teenage killer who walked into a Nebraska mall last week and murdered eight people in a shooting spree, BPD Commissioner Ed Davis told me.
Really?

And how does Ed propose to get his crack team on site before the killer has completed his mission?

With some preemptive justice, of course. Example: Disneyworld searching Gams against her will.

(God help us if criminals popularize buttcrack holsters.)

But seriously though, does it strike anyone as odd that "shooters" (murderers) visit schools and malls to perform the final act of their fully-armed melodrama? Why not visit a police station? Appears to be some rational thought there.

Well...David, since you asked - the anti-gun folks invent their "facts" so it shouldn't surprise anyone that they would borrow from Science Fiction. I present to you the department of "pre-crime".

(Sarcastic "Minority Report" joke)

Well, OTOH we could end up like some of the malls in Europe. Heavily armed tac squads wandering around the mall. Just think about the fun times that would cause. Remember, these guys are going to want regular promotions, just like the big boy SWAT teams. So, how do you prove that you are doing a good and necessary job as a Mall SWAT team?

Yeah, I shudder just thinking about it. Boy am I glad that I rarely go to malls.
