What Orwell Meant by "Pro Choice"

An Iowa grandmother has been banished to jail, including a night in isolation, after refusing to give in to a judge's demand that she submit to a psychiatric exam and take psychotropic drugs if prescribed to mitigate her opposition to abortion, her husband has confirmed.
So now all we need is a shrink who is pro-abortion and anti-gun, and we have a great alignment of opportunities to get granny adjudicated onto the prohibited persons list...all perfectly nice and legal-like.

No?

$5 says the judge had an abortion to clean up any "problems" that would have got in the way of her career. I find her reaction perfectly in line with the way things are going...you only have a choice if it has to do with murder. Anyone who doesn't accept her way of thinking is nuts.

There have been cases where courts have forced drugs on people before, so nothing new there. Sadly.

Besides all that, it's just another case of the government trashing the 1st...and some people actually think they were only after the 2nd.

I'm what both sides hate - someone who sees gray in the issue - but this is ludicrous.

The woman (and hubby) sound like assholes, but if being an asshole can get you locked up, we're all (and especially myself) in danger.

You've all heard the term, "badge-heavy". I get the feeling that this judge is "robe-heavy".

As I read stories like this, I find myself wishing for a shooting war with these bastards.

But David, didn't our dimmer but more arrogant rights advocates explain to you that such as this wouldn't happen and further that she now has a mechanism that can remove her name from the prohibited persons list?

During that whole 2640 debate they explained it over and over, don't you remember?

Of course, now I expect they will attack the credibility of the source, because in their infinite hubris they cannot be wrong.

It took too much courage for them to see it for what it really was, and it takes way too much for them to admit it now.

Also, I expect we will see them call for respect for the ideas the lady opposes, while supporting the disrespect for hers in the name of pragmatism.

They are simply trying to control the minds as well as the means of people other than hemselves, who are trying to make a difference in this world

If I start voluntarily taking pschotropics now, am I covered when I get to court?

I believe this web page refers to the same Karen Egerton:
