And so they are total stinking hypocrites. What an accurate reflection of American society.
We need to lay the blame where it belongs. The employees of the BATFE didn't come from Mars (or Europe, Africa, etc.), they come from among us (our "friends and neighbors" and maybe some of our children). Thus, they are a reflection of what we are as a society — a bunch of hypocrites.
Maybe, if we own up to the fact that we need to straighten up our own lives and quit declaring that "its everyone else" that are the hypocrites — when we ourselves condone and further the hypocrisy by the things we participate in, we will begin to straighten out the mess we are in. But until we, individually are willing to be utterly honest about who we are and the things we condone and partake of (such as Hollywood (there's a "friend" of the Second Amendment)) don't expect things to change.
As long as we speak out and point to the hypocracy, we are working toward a solution rather than being a part of the problem. Cop glorification needs to end. I find it as disgusting as mafia glorification.
Actually kent, I prefer the mafia. I have known both cop and capo. I have found, on the whole, that the capos exercised more integrity. And even when they don't, you at least knew all along that they are snakes.
The BATFE do not have double standards. They have only one. It is: "Hooray for us and fuck you."
