State Representative Bruce Goodwin (R-74) has introduced legislation that would restore gun rights to members of the armed services or the Ohio National Guard who are between the ages of 18 and 21.This is being presented to us as a "pro gun" bill-- and we'll just disregard that it gives "Only One" status to the standing army while leaving Unorganized Militia members of prime fighting age disarmed under penalty of law.
Yes, it makes no sense to deny rights to those who serve--but it also makes no sense--and violates all Founding principles--to deny them to anyone old enough to serve. And I see the promo piece neglects to mention the bill also maintains the special place at the table for young LEOS...
Sorry--we're not supposed to be about special classes of citizens. Matter of fact, I think that's supposed to be prohibited...
