College students tackle gun and knife crime with mobile technology...
Ha HA! You're in for it now, Cho! We're equipped with state-of-the-art Vodafone v1615 handsets! Now prepare to feel the awesome power of our collaboratively-produced video clips, music, interviews and images, you wretched FOOL!
I've heard of less-than-lethal defensive tools, but this is the first time I've read about less-than-logical technology...
And yes, I noticed the photo. Pathetically, it was probably the least stupid thing on the page.

Set your phones to stun!
As Jed Clampett used to say, "Pitiful. Jest pitiful."
The solution to "gun and knife crime" in London is "...a theatre production, a professionally-mastered CD of music incorporating anti-violent lyrics written, mixed and produced by the students, video promos, and an action plan to tackle social cohesion problems that can contribute to violent crime..."??
No wonder the civilization is collapsing. People are dying, and this group is clustered in a little room in the top of their ivory tower giving each other awards and accolades.
I can't even muster the saliva to spit on this.
So... huh?
So, if another VT shooter (I will not use his name) comes along, we're supposed to sing at him?
"Dooooon't shoot me.
Dooooon't shoot me.
It's wrooooooong!"
"Bang!"
Huh. I don't think that's going to work too well.
You don't get the full effect unless you play it on the new aPod that plays through a third speaker, a special, ergonomically-moulded unit to be inserted where you normally hear your low-frequency-effects channel.
I offered once to start up a women's self defense class at a university. I was told that it would be more productive to teach men not to rape.
The myth that it is better to be proactive than reactive has born some sick mutant children. That is one of the reasons that so many of the sheep get behind gun control. By being proactive and removing the tools then the undesirable behavior will not manifest, or so they believe. It's also inherent in the whole increased policing for crime prevention. Utopian ideals
