Angilo Freeland's civil rights weren't violated, the Department of Justice has concluded, 20 months after the fugitive died in a 68-bullet barrage fired by law enforcement officers tracking the man sought in the killing of Polk sheriff's Deputy Matt Williams. Not to mourn what sounds like a truly bad guy, but there is a Heather Fong air to all of this.
Two images are evoked unbidden:
The death scene from "Bonnie and Clyde"...
...and Rodney Dangerfield punchlining "I can't take 67 more of those."

"Police officers shooting any person 68 times, irregardless of race, is inexcusable, and a depraved indifference for human life," David stated in a news release.
what?
89/11 is about eight and 101/11 is about nine. they're all firing at the same time without listening or looking for each others' shots. they're all emptying the clip like they're trained to do, because only 2 in 5 hit on average.
did they tell him not to move? did he reach for his gun or just uncover it? there's a lot missing. as they say, "you weren't there."
but, of course, that's the real problem. not the number of bullets.
One time in San Diego County some guy kills a police officer from his front window. Seems the police were staking out his place and his bullet went under that police officers protective vest. So SWAT was called and they flushed the guy from his house. All on live TV! The guy is wearing the same do-dads that SWAT is wearing but one thing was different. He had an AK-47 and once one of the SWAT guys saw that he put 2 and 2 together. He shoots the guy and he goes down and is ordered to throw his AK off to the side. One of the county cops comes running up with an AR and drills the guy right between the eyes. All of this on live TV!
The ruling was that officer's AR accidentally discharged. All of this happened if anyone wants to check it out, back in 1986 maybe 87.
Seemingly cops can pull off revenge killings and always get away with it. It's said to save taxpayers money by I'm still waiting for mine to go down.
