Can't wait to hear the anti-freedomers on this one. The fact that there ARE gun shops irritates them no end.
Locally, we had a man ask to see a gun, then run out the door with it. New York license plates. Probably stolen.
We had some other punks with out-of-state license plates steal about 30 handguns amd four rifles from a gun shop by entering through the ONLY UNBARRED WINDOW.
Another gun shop heist, there were no unprotected windows, so they drove their stolen truck through the wall.
Criminals WILL get guns. All the complaints about straw purchases are working, apparently. They can get dozens at a time THIS way, instead of one.
Unintended consequences. Black market prices.
Oh, in that third theft, four of the AR-15s were found a year later in 12 feet of water under the docks of our international marine terminal by police divers in routine training. Freighter crew members picking up a little contraband, then getting scared and ditching them? Don't even ask about port security...
But the BATFU holds the record for gun thefts, and for collateral fatalities as well.
I wouldn't bet on those fatalities being 'collateral".
