Bob Barr Poster Contest: It's On

[Poster design by ryanmguard]

We talked about this here.

Since that time, there has been no response from either the Bob Barr campaign or the Libertarian Party. Indeed, the LP continues to beg support from gun owners via solicitations that ignore emails we have sent to them. They even issue media statements saying the other candidates are "get[ting] free passes on [the] gun issue."

Well they don't get a free pass either. Don't tell me you've got a "pro gun" candidate when he has endorsed and introduced edicts as offensive to Liberty as any.

If the "Party of Principle" thinks their best course is to continue ignoring this rather than addressing it squarely, that's their choice. But some of us aren't going to stay silent while they do.

Western Rifle Shooters Association introduced their poster last week. Now we have this one.

Let's have a contest.

Design a Barr/Lautenberg poster of your own. If you have a blog, post it and send me a link so I can send traffic your way. If you don't, just send me your graphic as a .jpg file.

I'll post them as I get them, and will pick a time--maybe two weeks from now--to present them together. I still have to figure out how to select a "winner" and what prize I can come up with, but what the heck--let's have some fun.

And feel free to let the LP and Barr campaign know about this.

UPDATE: Good one!

Hmm. "Bob Barr was behind Lautenberg's agenda. He'd like to see us all **behind Barr's.**"

Introducing the Bob Barr. Sweet syrupy coating outside, bitter nuts-to-you attitude inside. Wrapper changed to imply freshness.

The LP has chosen to go the way of the Reform Party: publicity, followed by irrelevance. A party that can nominate Ross Perot, Ralph Nader, and Pat Buchanan with a straight face doesn't stand for a damned thing except getting its name in the paper, its candidates on the ballot, and its snout in the matching-funds trough.

Neither does the LP, seemingly (Wayne Allyn Root ain't no 2A prize, neither).

By the LP running this man who has done what he's done to attack the United States Constitution. The LP would be better off asking him to drop out of the election and not have anyone running under their party this time around. It would show some class, which isn't being shown to date on this matter.
If the LP party keeps on this path, the party will suffer in ways that it will never be able to get the party back on track to what it was before Bob Barr came along. Who knows maybe Barr is a plant to destroy the party to help McCain agains Oboma with the LP not having a clue to the backroom deal against them.

If they'll sell us spoiled goods on the Second Amendment, what other compromises might they make on other rights to have a "name brand" candidate.

Bob Barr. A good way to remember how to spell "emBARRassment." It's "harassment" that has ONE "r."

This is more than a fine idea. But I would expand it to any similarly helpful poster for the Barr campaign. CIA Central American recruitment, the drug war, PATRIOT Act, Prison USA ... why there are a number of wonderful contributions Bob Barr has made to the tyrannical state in his lifetime, and so little regrets expressed but for the past three plus years....

Bob Barr, and the LP is shit!
The LP is done for ever no question about it!
Barr + LP = Parasites, just under another name.
Making McCane look better.

The Libertarian Party is to political parties what the NRA is to gun rights groups.

They both stand for some good things, they have many people involved that have good intentions, but somehow they keep making decisions and compromises that just don't fit in with their own moral values.

I have given up on Bob Barr. Instead, I am supporting Charles Jay for president and Tom Knapp for vice president. These are the candidates of the Boston Tea Party www.bostontea.us Charles Jay is also the presidential candidate of the Personal Choice Party.

Actually, "PlanetaryJim" gave up on the Libertarian Party in 1988 -- 8 years before Barr even joined. And of course he is supporting the candidates of the Boston Tea Party: he's the fricking party Chairman.

Fine, George--but the issue isn't about "Planetary Jim," is it?

Your candidate, who you present to your readers as a libertarian and friend of gun rights is responsible for helping to pass a gun ban. And now both his campaign and the LP refuse to address it.

I guess my question now is, will you let your readers know that?
