While this happened in our neighbor to the north, it does definitively illustrate why we can't loosen the rules in our National Parks!
Why not join with "the voices of experience," that is, government pensioners, in wishing this man had died instead?
Hey, "The green blood still runs deep."
What are these people, Vulcans? Anyway, that's obviously more important than someone else's red blood.

They can forget it. Look up "bear attack" for some fascinating photos. The victims look like a box of Kentucky Fried Chicken, AFTER. Bears seem to prefer thighs, like some people.
And if your going to get arrested for staying alive, the save a little somethin'-somethin' for those who do the arresting. This is dangerously close to "Final Solution" thinking.
The irony is, bear victims look pretty intact and peaceful when they're dead. All the terror, agony and screaming is over. You just have a person lying still on a stretcher, hands folded on their abdomen, their thighbone fully exposed. Bears, you see -- unlike human hunters -- don't worry about wasting meat. And if they decide they don't like the taste of a particular new corpse, they just go eat something else. Just another ordinary day.
In this, they ARE like human criminals, but without the planning.
No word on why the bear didn't simply disarm the man.
Or why the man didn't simply give the bear what he wanted...
I liked the picture on the link for the voices of experience. Shows FDR sitting with a blanket wrapped around him, and carved in stone in the background is something about regimenting people not being a good idea. That's a hoot considering FDR was a big time "happy face" socialist who threw U.S. citizens of Japanese and German and Italian descent into concentration camps without any rights to speak of. Also created public works projects and Social Security, and national control of industry, almost mirror image of what Hitler did. The facist slop he and his buddies created sucks down half our income today and funds a bureacracy that eagerly strangles us and makes a mockery of liberty. Why do the geezers in the NPS want no guns in the National Parks? Because they've always been a bunch of gutless wonders, want to stay that way, and want us that way to, by projection.
