Pickerington High School’s Scott Reeves apologized in front of 14 police officers after the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police organized a campaign against him for daring to vouch for the character of a man who mistook raiding cops for armed robbers during the raid. And when "The Only Ones" demand an apology, smart citizens comply!
Why do I immediately think of this?

I don't think I could handle the responsibility of NEVER EVER BEING WRONG.
On the other hand, is this high school principal the kind who calls cops when a butter knife is spied in the floorboards of a student's car? Just as police heavyhandedness makes us suspect all police, the school officials we hear about who have no respect for or trust in their students color my perception of stories like this.
Putting that aside, it smacks of Nazism. Raids are too common. Anyone kicking in someone else's door without trying a phone call and knocking deserves to catch lead. Having to retract criticism of such tactics means the First Amendment means as little to them as the Second and Fourth.
Another signpost on THAT road.
Reason magazine has details. Derrick Foster is the city employee who shot at what he assumed were armed robbers with his registered gun. No drugs were found.
Re: Reeves: Stand up for justice, get hammered.
That's OK, FOP. We know about your anti-gun (which means anti-liberty) philosophy. We're disppointed but not surprised you're ramping it up.
