New figures from the Government have reportedly revealed that less than one-fifth of gun crimes in Ireland result in a criminal conviction...
The main reason for the low rates is reportedly that the identities of the perpetrators have never been established.
So they are officially powerless to remove over 80% of current perpetrators from the streets--hell, they don't even know who they are.
The solution? Make sure the citizenry is defenseless.
If I lived in Ireland, I could use about a fifth of Bushmills right now...

This COULD mean that when a constituent of a freedom-grabbing official eventually ... er, STRONGLY DISAGREES in person, he won't be caught either.
This is Northern Ireland, so the gun laws have been inheirited/decreed from British law, so this is no surprise.
Glad to see you got the right brand of Irish booze - Bushmill's is distilled in Belfast (NI), while Jameson's (my preferred) is the Mickey hooch (I can say that - me great-grandparents came from County Sligo) is distilled in Dublin (Eire).
How many are really criminals? I get the impression that Irish law is similar to English, so most of these "criminals" might just be ordinary people who shot a scumbag and didn't bother reporting it.
This doesn't say much without knowing of the intentions of the victims and the perpetrators.
