State Rep. Sally Kern says she's an "outdoors girl” who's done some shooting but didn't intend to bring her pistol into the state Capitol on Wednesday. And it's happened twice.
As a gun-carring Oklahoma republican, I'm assuming (but haven't documented) Rep. Kern is OK on our issue. The point to be made here is, will a pass be given to all of us, or is that courtesy reserved exclusively for "Only Ones"?

Speaking as an Oklahoman, Rep. Kern is not "OK" on my issue. Carrying a gun requires a high degree of responsibility. I think it is stupid to require law abiding citizens to disarm anytime, but that is the law. Rep Kern has apparently broken the law 3 times now. Breaking the law to make a point about how stupid/unjust it is is one thing. Breaking the law 3 times because you can't remember to leave your gun in the car is irresponsible.
And Capt. Chris West is laughable. If I were to try to take my gun into the state capitol, I would quickly find myself on the ground while several officers tried to touch my back to my chest.
I break "the law" daily. Multiple times, probably. I don't count because I don't care. Counterfeit "laws" deserve no obedience or attention.
At the Indiana Statehouse, we have the fiat 'rule' there is to be no carry. Now, just last Monday, that has been expanded (like a fungus) to include the Government Center.
Legislators, judges and the 'only ones' aka State Police (agents of the executive branch) are allowed to carry. Sounds like elitist compromise huh?
Tom Wyss (the State Senator who always votes for bills that obstruct liberty) said, 'We have allowed for now carry for Legislators and judges.' For now? Careful lawmakers and givers:You are next!
As far as
Sally Hern goes, sounds like she kisses the posterior of the state. Just the opposite of what she SHOULD DO!
Enjoy your neoconism 'anonymous'! Why not tell us who you are? Bet you are one of the only ones or one of their lackeys.
BTW This excuse was given a year ago: "We have to realize and appreciate the fact that it is the focal point of a lot of decisions that are made here that aren't always popular with everyone," said Paul Whitesell, Indiana State Police Superintendent.
He is a Ph.D Counsels cops. I will not at this time question that. Elitism has its 'bulldogs'.
Mike H--what did anon say to make you think that? I just re-read it and don't see where he's done anything other than say you need to be responsible when carrying, she isnm't, she broke the law, and if he did, he'd be busted--all true statements.
What have I missed?
The simple fact they are infinging on her and everyone's right to carry. Then she 'apologizes'. It seems too conciliatory.
I see illegal law. And here in Indiana, it's just a 'rule'. for God's sake, who do these people think they are?
I hope Sally raises a legislative ruckus. There seem to be too few here that do.
