This sounds good on top but it is what is underneath that worrys me
Posse Comitatus is dead. Like much of the Constitution.
Most of our dystopian (sick society) fiction has a National Police Force, usually paramilitary in nature and mission.
Here's an idea: This mission sounds like why we have the National Guard. Keep the Guard home and let the full-time military fight the wars that are ABSOLUTELY necessary.
It's almost like there's an intentional effort to turn America upside down.
I can think only of three missions that an active duty, guard,or reserve unit can deploy for, among a populace. Disaster relief/police activity, to fight a war against approaching hostile forces, and to exert govt. conrol over a populace prone to or in turmoil. And if they're already deployed amongst civilians, govt. control is a fait accompli. Good generalship requires that you pre-position stocks and material in anticipation of deployment. Pre-deployment means you're anticipating a mission, before that. If they do this, and have immediate access to their war stocks, their intent is control over a wide area, with knowledge of friendly units left, right, and to the rear. I believe this is a pre-deployment for a mission of control and a preparation for larger operations.
There is another way — ITS CALLED THE UNORGANIZED MILITIA.
All it takes is citizen involvement.
What the Army is doing is EXACTLY what the Founders warned about.
And, it will have exactly the result they feared.
when do they start quartering in our abodes; or will they stay at the Hilton on our dime?
Did it really say they would be used for civil unrest and crowd control? It couldn't have. Posse Comitatus surely would not allow that. So I guess now if you get a 'permit' to organize a peaceful assembly against some government action or agency, you no longer have to worry about getting shot in the back or in the face with rubber bullets. Now, you have to worry about at which point someone decides the situation is 'out of hand' and starts zipping people with the .50 auto.
Tested in the sandbox and ready for anytown, USA...
"In the meantime, they’ll learn new skills, use some of the ones they acquired in the war zone and more than likely will not be shot at while doing any of it.
They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack.
Training for homeland scenarios has already begun at Fort Stewart and includes specialty tasks such as knowing how to use the “jaws of life” to extract a person from a mangled vehicle; extra medical training for a CBRNE incident; and working with U.S. Forestry Service experts on how to go in with chainsaws and cut and clear trees to clear a road or area.
The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.
“It’s a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities that they’re fielding. They’ve been using pieces of it in Iraq, but this is the first time that these modules were consolidated and this package fielded, and because of this mission we’re undertaking we were the first to get it.”
Well...with this bailout looming, despite overwhelming opposition by the people, they have already sown what they are about to reap. God help us all. I think it's marching time...take back what the thieves have stolen, liberty and property are the right of every american...
Is it possible they are keeping the Guards of various states deployed b/c they are the least politically reliable troops? By that I mean least likely to go along w/ some mad power grab.
head shots
There is an old quote somewhere that says something like "Snipers can save a country".
Roger, SA.
Anon, I'm going to take that to heart.
