An Allowance Parents Don't Give

Would you allow your son or daughter to room with someone at college who carries a gun?

What about students carrying concealed guns on campus for protection?
Would I "allow it"?

What the hell am I, the government?

If I've done my job properly, my children will have absorbed the values they've been raised with. And I must be doing OK, because, yeah, we've had some minor kid stuff, but they've never given me cause to question their character.

I would support it. Hopefully the roommate will have the same gun as my kid so they can share ammunition and spare parts.

If they are at college than they are adults and can make that decision for themselves.

This is a trap question....is their room mate a gang banger with a gun, or is their room mate a legal law abiding gun owner?

If the room mate was a thug than my child would also have a gun, if the room mate was a law abiding gun owner, well than hell I do not care (and my kid would still have a gun if this college was the sort that allowed this kind of thing)

I hope that I have educated my kids enough that they would know a responsible gun owner and feel safe around him/her.

If they thought he was not responsible or saw him do something that caused concern then I hope they would speak up and change rooms.

I have no problems with responsible adults and guns. . . I hope my kids don't

My kid's away in college right now.

I made him leave his Barrett .50 rifle at home, but I saw no problem with him taking his M1A and Glock along...just in case.

why would any parent want his kid to go to college? Would they be afraid they were ignorant enough to survive in our society? Therefore, remedial ignorance is the only possible solution, available at a university near you.

Hell, the question should be Why would you allow you son or daughter to go to college without a gun?
