Statism and totalitarianism, which we spent so much blood and money to fight in the Second World War and the Cold War, rise everywhere. They will keep rising until the private, secret impulse to freedom among individual men and women becomes a working majority. It will. First this majority will be silent and almost invisible. Then, overnight it will seem, it will emerge as a tempest which will sweep most of what we know today into history's garbage can, both the good and the bad. Blood will run.An important cry for freedom--from Canada.
Go. Read.

All too true. It grates on my nerves that Zero, when in office, can at his whim or intention, have any one of us, or a lot of us, thrown into jail, not charged, indefinitely, because of the Patriot Act. The perfect tool for molding the rest into line. Our families won't even know what happened to us, because they don't have to even acknowledge we are under arrest. I think it was LBJ that said, legislation should not be viewed as to how much good it would do, but how much evil, if exercised by your enemies. I think whats' coming is going to be far worse than we can imagine.
Good article, but one nitpick--it was Aldous Huxley, not J.B. Priestley, that authored Brave New World. It's not as bad as a grammar error in a persuasive article, but it does serve to diminish the author's argument, fairly or not.
