A 71-year-old greeter at the Wal-Mart in Collegedale says Chattanooga Police Det. Kenneth Freeman shoved him to the floor after he tried to stop him for a receipts check...Well naturally. Do you think they would have declined had it been the greeter assaulting the "Only One"?
Collegedale Police declined to charge Det. Freeman, who is 48, with assault. [More]
Come to think of it, had it been anyone else who set off the alarm, do you think the contents of his bag would have been checked?

Not the first time Det. Freeman has been involved in an altercation:
http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_107169.asp
"Chattanooga Police said Thursday night they have cleared Det. Kenneth Freeman of any wrongdoing in a run-in with attorney Lloyd Levitt at the Courts Building on Wednesday morning.
Attorney Levitt, after viewing a video of the incident on Friday morning, said he was not the aggressor and that Det. Freeman assaulted him."
He said one man was "livid" and was pointing his finger at Det. Freeman while saying, "You are a police officer? Shame on you."
Now THAT'S what I like to see. David, have you ever thought of making up some google "only ones" banners like the "google ron paul" so that people can start catching on to the fact that police aren't all good.
Unfortunately, all that would do is give PR to a punk band by that name.
Yet another case of proof that these people are above the law. But they will issue a speeding ticket to someone for going a few mph over the speed limits becauase its the law.
Some people might think that these two sentences from the article contradict each other:
"In the incident on Christmas Eve, Mr. Walker said an alarm went off when Det. Freeman and another city police officer, Edwin McPherson, were leaving the store,"
followed by,
"Cpl. Larry Robbins Jr. of the Collegedale Police said he decided not to bring assault charges against Det. Freeman, saying the incident was a misdemeanor not committed in the presence of an officer,"
Edwin McPherson was either present, or he wasn't. Which was it?
