...almost nine hours has elapsed since my last post.
I was up early to get my Gun Rights Examiner article written before taking youngest feral son Qusay to his tonisillectomy. He is fine, although I don't expect to see him screaming execution orders for at least the next few days. You wish you could take your kids' pain away and bear it yourself, but that's part of life they need to learn to deal with, and the pain meds and banana Popsicles do take the edge off. Anyway, he was a champ, very brave, and he's being stoic now. That's my boy.
I'm done in. Think I'll process the 200 emails waiting for me and maybe take a nap. That's it for today.

Tonsils aren't too bad when you are young, so it's much better to get them out early. I got mine out at age 22 due to sleep apnea and that was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. I spent nearly 2 weeks out on opiatic painkillers(hydrocodone and percocet). Then had to re-learn to eat, as I hadn't eaten real food in so long that my stomach couldn't keep anything down. It was horrific. All my kids will get their tonils out early in life.
One of my kids had a T&A last fall. There is a positive side of it if you are a kid. Ice cream, malts, root beer floats and other fine treats along those lines.
Hope your little one recovers fine. I had mine out when I was seven, and the only thing better than all the ice cream and sherbert, was missing the last week of 1st grade!
Find a copy of an old Bill Cosby album with "Tonsils" on it. Don't let your son hear it until he's well enough to laugh though!

Take care, David. Since I've been here, I think you've taken off maybe four days in two years. Not bad attendance for a job that pays well below federal minimum wage. If you're going to take a day off, who am I to complain? :o)

Ahh...TJP--let me tell you what WarOnGuns "pays"--the only source of revenue for this blog is Google AdSense. I've made $2.17 in the past seven days.
As part of the t's and c's, we're not allowed to ask people to click on those, so I never do.
What I do ask people to do--and only those who believe they get value from my work--is to go over and read my Examiner columns and spread the word. I figure if I write another hundred or so columns, I just may cover the deductible on Qusay's tonsillectomy...:)
I'd be happy to donate a little cash toward that end, David. I doubt I'm the "Only One" ;).

No, no, no, no--thank you, I'm sorry if I gave that impression--I never have and never will solicit donations for myself. Never. I earn every penny I make, always have, always will.
When I solicit for funds, it is to a cause or effort I support myself. Always--I never ask readers to do anything--including writing a letter or email--where I haven't already done what I asked everyone else to do.
The ONLY "contribution" I ask for is, if you get value from the work, to read the Examiner articles and let people know about them. But only if you get value from it.

I noticed the absence - refreshed WoG from time to time all day... and just figured you'd finally taken a day off or something.
Glad the "something" was more or less benign and not a terrible emergency.

And if I mention the Examiner stuff any oftener, I'm afraid people will start to throw things at me. LOL
